The "Curiosities" concert is what these posters are promoting. It's a rock and heavy metal concert featuring 3 different bands. I was inspired by the "Self Help" music festival that renowned rock band, A Day to Remember, has held in multiple cities. Rock is a way to express oneself, and listening to it is often a productive way to get out negative feelings.
The color schemes for these posters is largely meant to be complimentary. This is especially true of the demonic rabbit illustration. Finding appropriate colors for the creatures and the backgrounds was a challenge, but I utilized the basics of the color wheel to make a balanced composition. The title "Curiosities" is hand lettered, and the type for the venue information is intentionally bold and blocky.
These illustrations started as paper sketches. I was able to draw them in two days. From there, I vectorized them in Adobe Illustrator, which took me five days. After adding some color and flourishes in Adobe Photoshop, these pieces were finished and were ready to be sent off to competitions. They won an AIGA FLUX Award in 2022 and were featured on the Communication Arts Illustration Shortlist that same year.
