A Friend in Need
A little turtle needs help getting back to the sea. Fortunately, he is found by a small boy who happens to be sitting on his porch. This project won a Gold ADDY Award from the Oklahoma City Ad club in 2021.
If I Could Speak
The Inktank studio was approached by the WildAid organization to create 3 posters. These posters would demonstrate the struggles animals faced in Africa. It was crucial that these posters conveyed the hardships of animals without using words or text. Language barriers needed to be traversed as these posters would be showcased in numerous countries. My solution to this project was well-received. It won a Gold ADDY Award from the Oklahoma City Ad club in 2022, a SALUTE Design Competition Merit Award, and a Silver National ADDY Award from the American Advertising Federation.
The Dirty Laundry Dinosaur
This illustration was done with watercolors and colored pencils. It was based on the following prompt: "You could never tell when it was going to show up next." It won an award from the Graphex 51 Competition in 2019.
The Three Schnauzers
For as long as I can remember, my family has owned schnauzers. There were three in particular who were with us for a long time: Franc, Hans, and Beamer. I wanted to write a children's book about these three important pets in my life. This illustration is the first page of that story, and it features the three schnauzers dreaming of strudel. This illustration won a Gold ADDY Award from the Oklahoma City Ad Club in 2022.
Holiday Cards
Each year the University of Central Oklahoma holds a competition for illustrators to create holiday cards. There are two card competitions: one for the UCO Fine Arts Department, and one for the entire university. These two illustrations are my solutions for this competition. Though my university solution wasn't chosen, my Fine Arts solution was.
Curiosities
I've always had a fascination with the "weird." I love weird things as much as I love illustration. So, I combined these two loves into a series of posters featuring the weirdest creatures I've ever concocted. The results, though somewhat disturbing, received a positive reception. They won an AIGA FLUX award in 2022 and were also featured in the Communication Arts Illustration Shortlist that same year.
